Stanley Unwin writes to Tolkien about the US edition of The Hobbit. It had been held up for some time and although Tolkien had agreed to let a reprint go out without the previous planned changes, Stanley Unwin informs him that the printer has gone too far and the corrections have already been incorporated. He also remarks that if Tolkien would like both versions of the text to be printed going forward,^{revised in the US/original in the UK[1]} that they can include a prefatory note in future British reprints.
