In this two page handwritten letter, Tolkien thanks Unwin's son Rayner for his positive feedback on the first chapter of the new book, "A Long-Expected Party".

Tolkien gives his approval for Allen & Unwin to consider publishing C.S. Lewis' Out of the Silent Planet, which Lewis has submitted to them by this date.
