Tolkien writes a note about the creation of the Dwarves and asks Eileen if she would like a copy of
Tree and Leaf
when it is published.
Notes
The document is undated, but the date is guessed from Tolkien's comments about his next book
Tree and Leaf
which came out in May 1964.
As Elgar never learned to lip read, she and Tolkien communicated with notes during his visits.
