Tolkien expresses frustration with creating a map for The Lord of the Rings.

Notes

As an interesting aside, one of the manuscript pages for the corrections to Book VI, Chapter 2 Tolkien sent to Rayner Unwin with this letter, was sold at auction in 2018.
