1961. Excellent condition. HAs been well looked after and would make a wonderful Christmas present! REDUCED! WAS 250£ The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, by J.R.R. Tolkien. Published by Allen & Unwin in 1961, This is the 13th overall impression or the second edition 9th impression. It is in its matching 13th impression dustjacket. The book is in Near Fine condition,in my opinion with a little light fading to the base ( a few mm) from sunlight shining through the white sections of the dustjacket. The dustjacket is Has a few foxing marks (see picture) , and minimal rubbing on the upper spine area. No previous owners names or other writing to be found. No foxing marks or offsetting noted as such on pages. The boards are the original green cloth with dark blue stamping of Tolkien's own Mountains and Dragon design,no bumped corners. The title verso has the full printing history up to this 13th impression of 1961. The original dustjacket is correctly marked the 13th impression. The dustjacket is NOT price clipped and in Very good Good condition, showing the price of 12S 6d net. These books of this quality do not come up often, and unfortunately Im selling due to downsizing my property. I inherited it from my grandfather, but its not doing much sitting on my bookshelf - so its time to go. Please ask for any more pictures - as these are only taken with a smart camera, and i want you to be happy on what you are bidding on. Any questions please ask. Any overseas bidders please ask before bidding - as i need to determine what type of postage and cost before you bid. The book will be insured and sent via international tracked post. UK postage is for signed delivery plus insurance.
