The Lord of the Rings trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King) by J. R. R. Tolkien.
2nd edition, 4th impression published by George Allen & Unwin in 1971.
Publisher's dark red cloth, title and decorative ring stamped on spine in gilt, plain endpapers, edges trimmed, top edge stained red, fore- and bottom edges unstained. With the green wove paper dust wrappers, lettered to front and spine and with the "Ring and Eye" device in black, red and gold, first and third unclipped and second volume clipped, each priced at £1.95.
The three volumes are in great condition overall and thus described together as a set. They're over 50 years old so of course there's some minor dirtying and imperfections to covers as you'd expect but the inside pages are remarkably clean and tight. All original maps included, in fantastic condition. I don't think I've seen a better example of this old of a set. I've tried my best to cover everything but let me know if there's anything else and I'll do my best to help.
