The three Lord of the Ring books were published by Ace Books. These books were published without Tolkien's blessing, thinking it would be a loophole to avoid paying royalties.
These unauthorized Ace editions were soon afterwards discontinued, making them difficult to find.
Condition is only good as there is damage and loss to the spines and the books are xx well read and covers faded and worn. Bindings are still good. All books are complete with all the pages accounted for.
