The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien 1956 printing of the 2nd edition or 8th printing overall, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the United States. One of 1,000 copies bound by Houghton Mifflin from the British sheets. Houghton Mifflin would not start printing their own text block until 1963.
This edition is a collectible item for fans of Tolkien's work and, in my opinion, a rare find.
I believe the book itself to be VG+ due to minor foxing and browning and the dust jacket to be VG due to the small missing portions along the top and bottom of the spine and foxing along the interior. The book is also protected in a mylar cover.
