Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for sale is a hardcopy of the 1st British edition, 1st impression/printing of The Father Christmas Letters (1976). According to Hammond’s Tolkien Bibliography, there were “50,000 copies printed.” This edition was issued without a dust jacket. The book is in very good condition. The corners are bumped, especially the bottom right one (see picture), which has caused the corners of some of the pages to bend a little, there is a faint indentation to the bottom of the paper on the title page, and the color of the lettering of “J. R. R. Tolkien” has faded on the spine (I believe it should be the same red as the cover). A collection of letters and drawings which J.R.R. Tolkien's children received every Christmas for over 20 years. The letters tell of Father Christmas's struggle to get everything ready for the festive season, helped and hindered by his chief assistant, the North Polar Bear. “Includes the letters from 1920, 1925-1938 and 1941 plus an appendix on an alphabet invented by North Polar Bear” ( Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE On Jun-03-15 at 23:15:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I'll definitely combine shipping.
