This auction is for a copy of Lighthouse #12, February 1965, edited and published by Terry Carr. Its 50 pages are neatly mimeographed, and this copy is in very good condition (back cover detached but present). The issue leads off with a humorous article by Gina (Ellis) Clarke, “Just Good Clean Fellowship,” observing ways in which, as she puts it, “The Tolkien trilogy was a furshlugginer *fagg* book.” Carol Carr follows with an installment of her ongoing “Stuff” column, this one with material not in her book, Carol Carr: The Collected Writings in the form of a playlet, “La Dolce Pizza.” Walt Willis offers an installment of his column, “The Perforated Finger.” Redd Boggs writes about his misadventures in trying to buy a bottle of mimeo stencil correction fluid (“corflu”). Ted White writes of discovering Westerns. Editor Carr has his “Tailgate Ramble” editorial column, and in addition his comments on the previous FAPA mailing. A short letter column features Robert Lichtman, Avram Davidson, Lewis J. Grant and Tom Purdom. Front and rear cover art is by Cynthia Goldstone, interior art by Don Franson, Jack Gaughan, Lee Hoffman, George Metzger, Bill Rotsler, Bhob Stewart, Steve Stiles and Arthur Thomson (“ATom”). [Please see my other current auctions for additional issues of Lighthouse.] Shipping charges: Media mail with delivery confirmation for $4.00. Overseas shipping quoted on request. Insurance optional. (Shipping price break on multiple won items.) Payment: Paypal per eBay requirement.
