Condition: Book is slightly foxed but free of inscriptions. Jacket is poor.
For sale is a 1958 10th impression of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien in an 9th impression dustjacket. There is no reason to suppose the 10th imp. book and 9th imp.jacket don't belong together as 2nd editions quite often had supply problems with book and jacket. The book is tight and free of any inscriptions or marks though it does have occasional general foxing especially at the edges and endpapers. The text is mainly free of foxing. The boards are quite bright apart from the spine area which is sunned. Condition is between good and very good. The jacket is in two parts and suffers a lot of staining and loss around the folds, spine and edges with much evidence of tape repairing. On the positive side all the information is intact and the flaps are mostly in very good order. Nevertheless overall condition would have to be described as poor. The jacket is housed in a film/paper cover to keep everything together and make its appearance more pleasing. The cover is easily removed if required.Postage will be by Royal Mail next day special delivery.
