THE HOBBIT: Or There And Back Again - 1938

First Edition - Third State

Green cloth covers are intact with moderate soiling and edgewear, especially to the spine ends. Blue title on front w/ orange creature; Same lettering and illustration on spine, are nice. (Ghost) tape discoloration evident inside back cover, though I don't know why as the hinge is good and tight.

Correct Chapter VII heading.

310 pages are tight in the binding and are clean, w/ some light scattered foxing and finger soiling. Illustrated with black and white sketches, colored illustrations, too, by the author. No tears, no loose pages, no creases, no markings or writing (other than previous owner name on ffep), no bad odors.

A protective, removable plastic covering is in place.
