About the edition: George Allen and Unwin. The elusive 1942 Children's Bookclub edition comprised on the 1st edition, 3rd impressions sheets. War-time standard. As this is a war-time edition, the picture plates are black and white (see photographs) A must for any complete collection. Extremely rare! Having done a little research, the last one of these to go on sale on ebay (also without dust jacket but in better condition), went for £1300 in October 2011: Condition: Unfortunately this copy is not in great condition. There is no dust-jacket, and the spine is coming away (see photographs), although all pages are well bound (i.e it is just the outer spine coming away). Gilding on the spine is rubbed, and there is staining to the boards, and a small amount of staining to a couple of the inside pages (see photographs). No marks inside though, and all pages there, and the edges of the pages are sharp. This is an extremely rare edition, in need of care. I am not a professional bookseller, and don't entirely know what I am dealing with here, so any advice from buyers would be great. I just happened to find this hanging around in a secondhand bookshop in London today and bought it. I'm happy to email more photographs if necessary or answer any questions. I would also just be interested if buyers have any more information on this item - I can put it up. A couple of people have asked about international shipping. I can confirm that this item can be shipped worldwide. On 04-Mar-12 at 14:51:18 GMT, seller added the following information: This is an excellent investment for anyone looking to do the small amount of repair work that the book needs.
