A very uncommon and hard to find set. A beautiful unmarked set bound in green cloth with title, author, publisher and Tolkien monogram in gold to the spines of the books. The softcover edition is more commonly seen. The fellowship has some foxing on the page edges and is a 2nd impression, the other two volumes are first prints. The dustjackets are proce clipped. Please see images for more detail. This set is in good condition considering their age. The dustjackets feature some of John Howe's most famous illustrations, with a Gold Band to the top and bottom with the runes in black. All dustjackets in brilliant condition with minor rubbing to the gold bands, virtually no loss of color. The original slipcase features the Centenary logo .
