Very good condition.
Stains to the bottom margin of pp. 28-33. Otherwise, interior is clean & unmarked. Toning to end papers & pastedowns; mild, even toning to pages. Foxing to top edge of page block. Binding firm & square. Covers have mild rubbing & wear at corners, along edges & at spine ends; foxing / oxidization along top edges of boards; a touch of fading around margins of front & rear covers.
An attractive & desirable copy of the first American printing of Tolkien's light-hearted tale of the adventures of Farmer Giles. A nice addition to your collection or as a gift.
