Condition & Provenance: This volume has a wonderful history, having once belonged to the personal library of the Reverend Michael Cosgrove Paternoster (1924–2003).

• The front endpaper features an "Ex Libris" bookplate for Michael Cosgrove Paternoster.

• There is a handwritten note at the top of the page reading: "All Saints' St. Andrews - Advent Eve Quiet Day 1977".

• The book is in good vintage condition. Please note there is a small inventory sticker on the back cover.

• The copyright page confirms it is a 1975 first edition.

This is a must-have for any Tolkien enthusiast or student of Middle English literature, made all the more special by its documented provenance.
