Rare Poster-Tolkien-'Drawings For The Hobbit'-50th Anniversary Show,Oxford 1987 Authors home, Bodleian Library, Oxford-23.5"x16.5 Author of the Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy, J.R.R. Tolkien taught at Exeter College, Oxford and the writing of these classics was done there over the course of his real career as a mathematics professor ,so there is a certain sentimentality around this exhibition of the original drawings for the book that began it all, 'The Hobbit', on the 50th anniversary of it's publication. The library gift shop even carried the poster for a while but no more and it becomes more difficult to find every year. This is one poster that you can truly say will only increase in value. It has some condition issues as noted above but matting and framing will take care of the little tears and the creasing, while visible, isn't that bad, as you can see in the pictures.I'll add some more close ups. We will ship the poster rolled in a heavy tube placed in a USPS Priority Mail poster "tube". The USPS triangular 'box tube' doesn't work well by itself. FREE SHIPPING IN US ONLY
