Condition: Very nice copy with original unclipped jacket!
The Two Towers Being the Second Part of the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien For your consideration is a very nice copy of the first U.K. edition, published by Allen & Unwin. This is an eleventh impression, from 1965, just before the second edition was published, and so it has the same jacket design and format as the true first printing (the second edition had a different design) The book is 352 pages in length, and includes the folding map tipped in at the end of the volume. Bound in original dark red cloth with the original beige dustjacket. Top edge of text block is dyed red. The book is in very good plus condition. The binding and hinges are firm and square; contents are crisp, clean and bright. Attractive bookplate and small bookseller's label to front pastedown, otherwise unmarked. The dustjacket is unclipped, with slight darkening to spine and minor rubbing to edges. There is a small pen mark on the spine of the book (see pictures). The jacket is now protected in a clear Mylar wrapper. A lovely early edition overall, increasingly scarce with the jacket and in such nice shape. Please check out my other listings! Over the next two weeks I will be listing many more scarce & collectible books, including some rarities, all offered with a low starting bid and no reserve. All books are carefully packaged and promptly shipped. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I am a professional bookseller with an open bookstore. I guarantee every book to be as described.
