Just arrived, very nicely done, embossed cover, painted endpapers, large supplementary section detailing the making of. Really good looking edition. Lovely art by David Wenzel.

I received my copy as well a few days ago and I just finished reading it. Wenzel really did a great job in replacing the most text packed pages with additional pages. This gives more breath to the text.
To better understand the differences between this edition and the previous one, I have compared it with the 2006 Del Rey edition.
In this
file you can check the deleted and added artwork.
What suprised me is that, apparently, HarperCollins forgot to add two pages (77 and 78 of the old edition) that now miss from the narrative.

So you are saying the new edition is missing two pages that should be present?

Hopefully they withdraw them from the supply chain and pulp. I doubt this will happen, though.

Had an email back from HarperCollins, David Wenzel had only just spotted the issue, which was that they missed those two pages when laying out the revised book.
As it stands, they will fix the issue for any future reprints, but no news on what if anything is going to happen with the current print run.

It’s new enough that people could return them, citing manufacturer’s defect
