I emailed HC this morning about this and they replied with an apology and ….
“Please attach photographs of this error to a return email, once we have this a replacement copy will sent off to you.”

This looks like a standard reply that you get if your book is damaged, they will give you a replacement. They can't replace it at the moment, also a bit of a challenge taking a photo of pages that have not been printed. You could ask for a refund.
To be honest I wouldn’t do that, apart from that mistake it’s a good looking book, if they do a corrected edition I’ll buy that

Two missing pages is a huge mistake. Ok assuming you never intend to read it, I guess.
For anyone intending to read the book, a big discontinuity in the storytelling will render it a bit useless.
I just registered to say "Thanks!" to the folks who have been looking into this and reporting. I dearly love this graphic novel; I grew up reading it and was on the verge of purchasing the new edition. Now I'll be holding off until this serious problem is resolved.
This is from HarperCollins
Just need to find out now when it is being reprinted. No idea on timescales for that.
I just wanted to update you on the below. All amends have now been made and given the green light by David Wenzel, so these errors should be fixed in future editions of the graphic novel.

If they didn't take the faulty impression out of the supply chain, is going to make getting a good one very hit and miss when it is printed.
Thank you Trotter for spotting this!
I was planning to get this new edition (I have the 2006 revised edition paperback), but never got around to it with all the new stuff coming out.
I was a bit disappointed to hear about the missing two pages, but I wonder if "early misprints" could still have a robust collectible value in the future? Are there any documented previous cases of misprints that have enhanced, rather than detracted from, the collectible value when it comes to Tolkien or Tolkien-adjacent works? Or has it historically been mostly an annoyance?

Not really, people want to read the whole book, sometimes misprints can be used to identify the state or printing of a book, but in a mass market book like this they detract from it.
