- The Gryphon, Leeds, N.S., vol. 4, no. 3 (December 1922) [this one actually does exist, but for some reason the page (95) containing Tolkien's poem "The Clerke's Compleinte" is missing from the archive]

It is not Public Domain in the UK, so they have been asked to take that page down.

Wow, wow, wow!!
What a treasure trove! Ask and ye shall receive... thank you so much Trotter for these amazing images!
It's interesting that they were asked to take that poem down, but not "Iúmonna Gold Galdre Bewunden" from the Vol. 4, No. 4 (January 1923) issue.

Since you were so amazingly kind to provide images of "Fastitocalon" & "Iumbo, or, Ye Kind of Ye Oliphaunt" from the Stapeldon Magazine Trotter, I'm wondering if you perhaps also have images of the following you'd be also willing to share:
The other two early poems I have on my list that I also haven't seen scans or images of that should be early enough to be in PD are:
- Valedictory "From the many-willow'd margin of the immemorial Thames" - The Stapeldon Magazine, Oxford, vol. 4, no. 20 (December 1913), p. 11
- "The Happy Mariners" - The Stapeldon Magazine, Oxford, vol. 5, no. 26 (June 1920), pp. 69-70
The other two early poems I have on my list that I also haven't seen scans or images of that should be early enough to be in PD are:
- "The City of the Gods" - Microcosm, Leeds, vol. 8, no. 1 (Spring 1923), p. 8
- "The Nameless Land" - Realities: An Anthology of Verse. Edited by G.S. Tancred. Leeds: At the Swan Press, 1927 - pp. 24-25

Trotter the depth of your resources and generosity are boundless! Simply amazing!
Sherlock Holmes is an example of a character in the public domain. Lots of stories written with him in it. The issue is that there is no quality control, so you can have well written Holmes works and utter trash. Fanfiction is not something I'll pay for.

I would also like to express my undying admiration for this man. We are spoiled rotten.
