Is there any way to tell what that Seafarer went for? It looks like the listed price (which was crazy high) was crossed out, so I assume it went for a lower offer?
Listed at 120 right? Crazy price indeed. No idea what it went for but what would usually be a fair valuation for this? (I don’t see it for sale that often)

I bought mine a year ago for $10. They don’t come up very often, but I think most of the ones that do are reasonably priced under $50. I would say $30 or less is a fair price. [EDIT - see my more specific memories regarding sale prices in subsequent post]
Ah good to know!
That sounds a lot more reasonable.

Do you have any evidence or listings to cite for these price figures, besides your own? Would be great for reference. I personally haven’t seen any first prints sell for that low.

I wish I had kept them. After I got my copy I stopped keeping track of where I saw them and for how much, although I'm always on the lookout for a deal on any of the Gordon-Tolkien collaborations. Now that I think about it more closely, I do think the two other copies I specifically remember were both in worse condition than the one I bought. One was pretty beat up with significant staining and I passed on it before I had a copy yet - I believe it sold for around $20-$30. The other came up for sale just after I had bought mine (for $9.60). I believe that one sold for around $50. So certainly a seller could make the argument that a better condition deserves a higher premium, not to mention that it does come up infrequently, though I still think $120 is way overpriced. The U.S. first edition seems to be available far more often. (I have edited my prior post to note these subsequent comments)
