Incredibly pained I missed this listing, I’ve been on the hunt for this set for over a year and it’s slipped through my fingers a couple of times already. Such a good price!

Yes but I’m not certain it’s catching anything. This listing did not show up under it, for example
The ebay saved search feature sometimes takes a while to send the alert email. For me it is up to a day, so I just have to monitor ebay throughout the day.AnariaLaurelin wrote:

It may not have shown up for you because this set was located in Canada. eBay searches are set to your "default" location when looking for items. When looking for items outside your country clicking the "worldwide" item location button will pull in more listings in your search.
This set shows up several times a year, patience will get you one.
Instant notifications to your phone are also an option you can choose. Every time I see something got missed for a book I want, I set up a new search that WOULD have captured it. You might have 3 to 4 searches for one book in order to capture all the possible ways to list it.SamwiseTheBrave wrote:

Ah, that’s a good tip, thanks.

Instant notifications are just as non-instant as the emails. The searches are processed in batch.
If something is popular and with a Buy it Now/Offer, you aren't generally going to find it with an ebay search notification (email, whatever). They are processed too slowly. Works for less popular items, of course. I don't think I've found and bought something using notifications from saved searches in several years. Same with Abe - they just process too slowly to be useful for Tolkien, given the global demand for anything with the word 'TOLKIEN' in it.
I found one with very little effort, (looks like old Ent Fangorn is selling one) so, they are out there.
