Whilst looking at my BD order history out of curiosity, I came across this. One of these days, I'll remember to unbox and frame it. It is actually quite nice.

That is really nice and i suspect it must appeal a bit extra if you are above average interested in printing techniques/technology.

We were not happy about the price when it came out, I did not buy one. https://www.tolkienguide.com/modules/n ... ost_id=6331#forumpost6331

it must be said ...the Rob Inglis reading is good. I only have it on CD tough and my only CD-player is in my car.

In actual fact they sold them off rather cheaper than the very overpriced RRP. I ended up buying two when they discounted them heavily @ AUD 85 each including postage to Oz (£50-ish at the exchange rate back then, less today). I took a punt, given the discount and bought one and was happily surprised with it. I intended to frame it, so bought the second one. Never got around to it doing anything with it...

They are actually really well made in terms of the paper and embossing / letterpress printing. But they were never a £100 item.

I dug one out and took a couple of pictures. Came in a triangular box, with the poster wrapped between two sheets of tissue. The main problem I think is that what makes it nice in person is the 3D from the blind printing, but you really need the right lighting to get the effect, so you would probably need it down-lit, and I'm not sure how well that would work with glass in front (might work fine, never tried).
