Priscilla Tolkien, who fiercely guarded her father's Lord Of The Rings legacy, died earlier this year aged 92.
But newly released probate documents reveal that the academic left an estate worth £10 million to the Tolkien heirs.
She never married nor had children and largely kept a low profile, like most of her reclusive family.

Wow, Priscilla amassed an impressive personal estate over the years. When one considers someone like David Attenborough is worth in the region of £30.4M its quite an impressive figure.

Astounding that she had 8 million more pounds to her name when she passed than Christopher did.

I was surprised but thinking of their different lives I imagine it comes down to Christopher having a wife and their affairs being connected. Pure guesswork on my part of course.
