Hi all, brand new to the site.

I was very happy to stumble upon this site. I have enjoyed reading many of the posts. I am guessing that we are all probably fairly good at encouraging other fans to purchase more books. In that case I think I am in the right place! Here are a couple of my dedicated Tolkien shelves.

Many thanks for the kind words! There are a few sleepers on these shelves. One of my favourites is a near fine 1st American edition of the BOLT part 1. Normally, this would be nothing special. However, in this case it is one of 4000 copies from British sheets. It is marked as such on the copyright page stating “Printed in Great Britain”.

Welcome to the site. And especially welcome to your Titanic model. I had the exact same model as a child. From plastic boards, and the painting was a nightmare.

Below, some of my Star Wars models, with examples of LED lighting
The Millenium Falcon is an exact replica of the Episode IV model, took me 6 months to complete.

Oh my emilien they are wonderful. I think my days of modelling are long gone now with terrible eyes and little space but I remember fondly building these things with my dad. We also built Hornby railways and our own locamotives from scratch. Such fun times.

That Falcon is awesome ?

Mind if I join your thread instead of creating another new one?

Just signed up, though have been browsing the site for a couple of months now!

Before I introduce myself: thank you to the creators of TCG for all their hard work, what a treasure of a website. Always happy to find people who share my deep love for Tolkien's writings.

Now I don't have a collection that could interest any of you I think. No rarities (yet), nothing too expensive ... But it is nevertheless dear to me and I will continue to expand it Slowly, since there's a baby on the way and the money isn't exactly growing on my backside.

Only started collecting Tolkien in Spring of 2020, when Covid struck Belgium and I was forced to stay at home from my work at a bookshop for a month or two.

Decided to give The Silmarillion a go, since I'd always enjoyed The Lord of the Rings ...

Haven't looked back since Read a page or 50, thought "Damn, this is the best thing I've ever read", shut the book and started reading from the start again, this time taking notes, almost studying it instead of reading. Soon I purchased the Great Tales, then HoMe, then more editions, than another HoMe ... Like I said, nothing too fanciful, though some copies are dear to me for personal reasons (persons who gave them to me, memories, particular beauty ...)

Right now I work at a public library and I try to sneak in as many Tolkien publications into our collection as possible

Anyway, that's enough about me for now! Looking forward to talking Tolkien with you all, and learning a lot, no doubt.

I think everyone here would agree with me that all librarians should do this.
