This is becoming interesting!!
Anyone else have one of these?
Yes indeed. Pretty sure I see them every now and again on Ebay - but have not specifically been looking out for them.

remy would you also happen to have the equivalent 41st printing (April 1973) with the Barbara Remington cover?
Hi Lance,
Don't have the 41st with Barbara Remington Cover. Never looked for this one either.
Out of curiosity - is there anything significantly different between the Revised 1st 1966 and the 41st (or something interesting about the 41st). Another one worthwhile to look for or not?

So there are apparently slight differences between the 41st Remington cover and the Tolkien Raft Elves cover. From Tolkienbooks.net:
“*Internally, this 41st Printing (with Tolkien’s cover art) is identical to the 41st Printing of the 1966 Revised Edition (with Remington’s cover art) except for its last page. However, the 41st Printing (w/Tolkien’s cover art) used for the ‘Special Book Club Edition‘ has an identical last page to the earlier 41st Printing (w/Remington’s cover art)”

Indeed: But this would equally be true between the 1st 1966 and 41st with Tolkien's Art (if you see what i mean).
So if (for instance) you had a 1st 1966 - would you want also want a 41st with Remington Cover - Would there be any significant difference between the 1st and 41st (Remington).
All above - presuming you cared (which I do - but I assume most don't).

Oh yes, I agree! I just thought it would be interesting to have two 41st printings, but with different covers. ?
(Edit: Although I think there were some minor textual differences between some printings prior to the 41st)

Yes indeed!

Here is another book club Hobbit - oddly it is included in a Ballantine Boxset which was not book club issued (as far as I know) - maybe The Hobbit was replaced - or maybe not....
