Deluxe slipcased hardback edition of The Hobbit, illustrated throughout by acclaimed Tolkien artist, Alan Lee. Features exclusive new paintings and black & white designs appearing for the very first time, together with a removable art card and two foldout maps.
Whisked away from his comfortable, unambitious life in his hobbit-hole in Bag End by Gandalf the wizard and a band of dwarves, Bilbo Baggins finds himself caught up in a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon. Although quite reluctant to take part in this quest, Bilbo surprises even himself by his resourcefulness and his skill as a burglar!
Now, for the first time since its publication in 1997, this illustrated edition has been revised and expanded, with a number of brand-new paintings and black & white illustrations added by the artist.
Readers will be able to follow Bilbo's adventure from Bag End to the Lonely Mountain and back again – while also enjoying 30 full-page colour paintings and 50 pencil drawings and illustrations which accompany this enchanting tale, together with an exclusive new cover design by the artist.
This beautifully designed new hardback edition has additionally been enhanced for the first time with sprayed edges, and is housed in a custom-built slipcase stamped in silver foil with designs created exclusively by Alan Lee and which also features a unique hidden artwork. It is accompanied by a removable art card and two foldout maps drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Additional info from HarperCollins
It is being published as a companion to last year’s 3-volume deluxe set of The Lord of the Rings, and therefore is being manufactured by Graphicom to the same specification and with the same materials. As with that set, it will include all the new paintings that appeared in the Folio Society’s limited edition Hobbit, but is enhanced with a specially commissioned new cover painting and new part-title design, with new foiled motifs and ‘hidden’ artwork for the slipcase created by the artist. This edition will also feature an exclusive sprayed edge artwork.

The description sounds great, though it would be lovely to see images (I know that’s not up to you guys here, and photos provided by the publisher, Amazon, etc: just saying I’m looking forward to the imagery)

Publisher’s mockup and or images will emerge in due course, as they always do.
So this must be the corresponding Hobbit version for the 2024 Deluxe Illustrated edition of LOTR?
Interesting that this appears to be HC based on the photo, whereas the 2024 Deluxe LOTR linked above is WM.
EDIT: Oof. Somehow I missed that both HC and WM have editions listed from the Store here. On Amazon it seems just to show me the WM version of the LOTR set.
It seems there are now 3 main hardback series in print:
1. The 2020 set (which included one extra picture in The Hobbit) + additional books in this style 2. Illustrated by the author editions 3. 2024 LOTR and 2025 Hobbit with additional art and sprayed edges
Not to mention the 50th Anniversary LOTR and the 2004 Hobbit are still being sold in many stores.
I didn't bother with the 2024 and went for the 2020. The difference in quality between then is subjective and even at 50% discount, the 2024 set is overpriced IMO.

Plus 2027 will be the 90th anniversary of The Hobbit's publication, surely something will be released in observation. We are living in the golden age of Hobbit releases, it appears.
I hope the binding on this one is a little looser than the matching LOTR set. The bindings on those books are so tight as to render them practically unreadable, at least my copies are like that.
