Just can't stay away

My academic training is in textual criticism focused on the inter-relation of the Hebrew Bible and Greek Septuagint, involving the Dead Sea Scrolls and onward, including the Aramaic Targums, the Syriac Peshitta, and the Latin Vulgate. I came to Tolkien through the recommendation of a bartender at a pub I used to frequent, starting with The Silmarillion.
