John Boorman writes to Tolkien's secretary, apologizing for not being able to meet in person with Professor Tolkien and their mutual friend Father Maguire the other day. Boorman would like to wait until Maguire has returned from a trip so they can both go visit Tolkien together. He answers a question from Tolkien (through Joy) Letter from Joy Hill to John Boorman • 8 June 1970 (#2079)[1] , stating that the film will definitely not be animated. He asks if Tolkien might be available again in late July to try and meet up?
