Hello all,

Has anyone, by any chance, ever seen a poster called, I think, West of the Moon, East of the Sun? I had a copy back in about 1973/4. It was painted in gold on brown paper (sounds odd but it was very beautiful) of a knight on horseback (elven or Numenorean I suppose), holding a damsel sitting in front of him. They were on the shores of Middle Earth and there was an island in the distance, presumably Numenor. I have been looking for a copy for years.

Of all the Tolkein illustrations I have seen, this was the most beautiful and I would dearly like to find it.

Many thanks,

Graham Senior-Milne

Hi Graham,

I haven't seen that particular poster, but I have sent a note off to a few long-time collectors that may well have seen it or have a copy. I'll let you know if I hear anything back. It does sound interesting!

Still no leads on that poster yet, but I am still talking with collectors. Here's another one a fellow collector is looking for...

The Tree-Woven Lands of Middle-earth

which by the way brought up an excellent idea for another section of the guide - "have you seen this poster?" I've started the list with these two descriptions. Please submit more requests for old posters you remember, and images or leads if you have any additional information!
