Tolkien writes to Kenneth Sisam with news that he has finished his modern prose translation of Beowulf.
Notes
Much of the letter remains unpublished but a portion of it was included by Christopher Tolkien in the 2014 volume
Beowulf: A Translation and Commentary, Together with Sellic Spell
(see reference). Tolkien includes his edition of
Pearl
at the same time.
