Tolkien writes to C. A. Furth of GA&U acknowledging the two drawings which were “safely received”, he has placed them in the correct positions among the proof-sheets.
He is also sending corrected proofs and rough end-papers in a separate package.
He comments on the type-setting, it is in the whole done very well and continues on the subject of the proofs, the MS of The Hobbit and asks if a “season of publication” has been decided on? If it is earlier publication, he will attempt to sort the jacket at once.
