Tolkien writes to the War Office from Great Haywood where he is currently residing to inform them of this change of address.
Notes
On 23 January he was examined at 1st General Hospital by the War Office Medical Board. He is still not well enough for service and his leave was extended until 22 February. He will be examined again on 27 February and it is decided that he is unfit for service for at least two months. He is sent to rest at Furness Auxilary Hospital in Harrogate.

, p. 95 in which Humphrey Carpenter says that Tolkien was passed fit in April of 1917. It has since been seen in documents which were not available at the time that this is in fact not the case, and that no details of Tolkien being passed fit exist for April 1917. They also summise that Tolkien would not have been passed fit to be stationed in Yorkshire until at after he had been treated at Harrogate.
