The Telegraph report that a "Lost Tolkien work discovered in Bodleian archives".
Cossio observes that he
“opened the box… I could hardly believe my eyes. Among the
materials was a translation by Tolkien that, as far as we could tell, nobody had
publicly discussed before.”
Soul's Ward, Tolkien's translation of the medieval text will be published in the
Review of English Studies on June 8. It is edited by Andoni Cossio.

The typescript was accompanied by a 1985 note from Tolkien’s late son, Christopher, which referred to the translation being found by Alan Bliss, Tolkien’s former student, in 1983.

Yes these news articles love a good "lost" report. The material was not lost, just unknown. But it was known to Dunning who it was sent to. It has been available to view at the Bodleian for many years.

The Bodleian has two copies of the typescript and several earlier manuscript drafts and notes. Bliss only discovered the carbon copy, but I think the Bodleian already had the rest prior to that discovery.
I hope this publication is more than just the typescript.
(Also, Sawles Warde is basically the plot of Pixar's Inside Out movie.)
