Rayner informs Tolkien that Forrest J. Ackerman with Zimmerman have been given a free option on the film rights to the Lord of the Rings, Zimmerman will spend that time trying to write a story that Tolkien approves of. Rayner Unwin notes that the agreement will begin when Zimmerman has received Tolkien's comments and objections. he notes the financial gain for Tolkien if a movie is made and he returns the story-line that had been at the Allen & Unwin offices since last Autumn.
