TCG Letter #1725

From
George S. Gordon
To
Kenneth Sisam
Date
?18 (received 19) October 1925
Type
Manuscript/Proof Document
Transcript
Unknown
George S. Gordon sends to Kenneth Sisam a batch of manuscripts for the Clarendon Chaucer. AMong them texts, notes for the essays and he says that Tolkien has finished the glossary and a first draft of the notes on the text. Tolkien is apparently working to shorten these per Sisam's earlier requests.See Letter from Kenneth Sisam to George S. Gordon • 5 January 1925 (#1649)[1]

Considering that these notes, which Tolkien has only completed a first draft of, were meant to have been sent to Sisam, completed, no later January 1925,See Letter from Kenneth Sisam to J.R.R. Tolkien • 5 February 1925 (#1651)[2] it would be no surprise to consider Sisam's colling of matters on the Clarendon Chaucer in the coming years.
