Charles writes, informing Tolkien that GA&U will send him a new binding for The Hobbit. It will have different lettering without the lines under the title, which Furth agrees does look better. He hopes that Tolkien would agree to retain the lines at top and bottom as GA&U would like to keep those.
He also notes that unbound copies of The Hobbit will be sent to C.S. Lewis and to the Oxford Magazine and further notes that they will receive reviews copies in due course but on Tolkien's list.
