Chambers writes to Tolkien thanking him for a copy of The Hobbit. It is this letter which is forwarded by Tolkien with a letter to GA&U.Carpenter #15: Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to C.A. Furth (Allen & Unwin) • 31 August 1937 (#15)[1] He updates Tolkien on his health and Gertrude Chambers, his sister, includes a postscript. An exact date is not known for this letter, but as Tolkien write to C.A. Furth requesting a copy be sent, and Furth replying a day later, it is assumed that this was sent from 15 August onwards.

This letter is found at the Bodleian Library archives.
