To
Christopher Tolkien
Date
24 December 1944
Type

Transcript
Partial
Tolkien was happy that Christopher had enjoyed the next three chapters of the Ring and told him new consignments should reach him about 10 December and 14 January.

Christopher had written Harebell and emended it to Hairbell. Tolkien had once looked up the names after arguing with a dogmatic scientist.

Tolkien asked if Christopher was still naming nameless flowers that he found. He thought he would invent some more for Sam's garden in the end.
