Gwyn Jones writes to Tolkien on the matter of The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun^{Jones founded the Welsh Review where in Tolkien's Lay was published later that year in December.[1]} and Sellic Spell. Both works had been loaned to Jones when Tolkien visited the University of Wales as an examiner. Jones says that Sellic Spell should be on the reading list for all university students studying Beowulf.
