Writing to Ida Gordon, Kenneth Sisam remarks that he is pleased to hear that Tolkien has taken up Pearl again. He also says that Tolkien's weakness is perfection, which often leads to delays.^{We currently have no details of other letters from this period connected to the Pearl edition. We would assume correspondence had continued between Tolkien and Ida Gordon.[1]}
