Ronald Eames thanks Tolkien for the return of the corrected proofs for Farmer Giles of Ham.
He says it had occurred to GA&U that the passages in italics would be better in black letter. They have instructed the printer to make this change. He sends proofs of the dust-jacket and asks Tolkien to inform the publisher of any corrections or changes as soon as possible. They will use a thicker paper for the book to make it a more attractive item.
