Tolkien discusses The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and a printing from 'an "organization" - similar to the Reprint Society' of The Lord of the Rings. This is probably the Readers Union edition from 1960. Tolkien however appears to know nothing about this reprint.
Tolkien expresses gratitude for Philip Toynbee's famous assault on his work in The Observer in 1961.
Minchin was editor of The Legion Book (1929) and, like Tolkien, a veteran of the Great War.
