Identifying more with his Suffield heritage than his Tolkien name, Tolkien expresses a deep connection to Worcestershire, considering it "home" due to his grandmother's influence, a gifted lady who faced suffering and died young.

The revised 2023 edition of Letters restores two brief sentences at the top of the letter, where Tolkien mentions that Edith first met the Incledons of his family, and in Worchestershire.
