In the portion of this letter published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien he writes to Kilby about book, Light on C.S. Lewis.

From a personal visit to the Wade Center is derived the following summary.

Tolkien thanks Kilby for his letter and for the enclosed article from Dempsey that was in the Saturday Review. he notes that before he had gone away on a trip he had accepted an offer from his publisher to deal with all of his correspondence regarding the Lord of the Rings.
