To
Pauline Baynes
Date
1 August 1962
Type

Ronald Eames of George Allen & Unwin writes to Pauline Baynes.

They are delighted with the first instalment for The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Other Verses from the Red Book. Rayner Unwin plans to take the drawings to Oxford on Thursday to show Tolkien. After which they will return the jacket design to her for final treatment as is most urgent. Returns paste-up so she can proceed with work.

As it happens, Tolkien wrote on the same day giving some updates about the description of Tom Bombadil. See Carpenter #240: Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Pauline Baynes • 1 August 1962 (#615).
