Tolkien’s The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Other Versus from The Red Book is nearly pristine and appears to be unread. The pages are still tightly bound and unbent or creased open for reading. Pages are spotless. The only signs of age and prior ownership are some charming darkening of the edges of the pages, the slightest indentation lines on the dust jacket from shelving that can only be discerned by tilting the book in the light, and a small scuff spot on the back endpaper. This edition has a magnificently full-color illustrated cover and dust jacket and wonderful black and white interior illustrations by Roger Garland. Printed in Great Britain, for Houghton Mifflin in Boston in 1991. There is a unique sticker on the reverse of the cover page, clarifying this arrangement.
