Condition: The book is in good condition, with no dust jacket. Blue cloth covers are faded and smudged, with bumping and fraying around the edges and on spine. Front hinge cracked, but binding is tight and all pages intact. There is a former owner's name on front endleaf (dated 1956). Other than that, the text is clean and unmarked. Map attached to rear board has a three-inch tear.
"The Return of the King, Being the Third Part of the Lord of the Rings," by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hardcover with no dust jacket, published in 1956 by the Houghton Mifflin Company, I don't know what edition this is, since the copyright page does not give a date, but the title page also says "The Riverside Press Cambridge," and the copyright page says, in italic type, "Printed in Great Britain." I couldn't find any clues to what edition this is on the web, but maybe somebody who wants to buy will know more than me. With map attached to rear board, 416 pages. I pack carefully and ship promptly, free via media mail.
