This is an advertising promotion, a single folded stiff card, sent out by Ballantine Books in April 1988, in anticipation of new editions of Tolkien to be published in September in honor of the 50th anniversary of the US publication of The Hobbit. Two paragraphs are quoted from Peter S. Beagle, author of The Last Unicorn. Very good condition, with a lightly penciled date of "11 April 1988" written by me at the top of inner page to indicate when I received it. There is a slight discoloration (glue imprint) where the address label used to be (it fell off sometime in the past). Rare.
